John Barker's 'Cloud Pavilion' was installed in the Annette Strauss Square at the Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District during the 2013 Aurora festival. The ambient performance and immersive environment created by John was the backdrop for his sonic sculptures with the band Water Falls. His original video projections illuminated the performance with a cloud air wall, inviting the viewer to absorb the color-saturated field. Added atmospheric effects of fog and light transformed the lawn into an experiential cloud for visitors to pass through the space that fill the senses with elements of color, motion, and nature.

John Barker collaborated with maestro Kathryn D. Brown of the New Texas Symphony Orchestra to create visuals during the evenings performance in the center of the Dallas Arts District. John designed the band shell from umbrellas that were used for video projections. Following the NTSO performance, WATER FALLS conducted their own environment filled with light, sound, and fog.

John Barker used themes of water, light, space, and ambient sounds at the 2011 Aurora festival. The installation and performance was located at the One Arts Plaza in the Dallas Arts District where John Barker created subtle images of space and nature that projected among the architecture designed by Lionel Morrison. The band WATER FALLS performed next to the basalt logs and fountains and filled the plaza with ambient music. Viewers could approach from afar and appreciate the plaza ambiance.
